Amelia grew up in a world of half-truths. She knows she's an Elder, but has no idea what that means. Her father reminds her daily that she must maintain control, but he refuses to explain why. Even worse, she's betrothed to the prince of the Immortals and doesn't even know his name. Finally breaking free to live a few normal years at a community college, the last thing Amelia expects is to find her best friend in a cheeky southern girl, or fall for a self-assured human who sees her for who she is, not what she will become. As she learns more about herself, Amelia realizes the line between love and duty is a thin one. As her power continues to increase exponentially and her questions are slowly answered, Amelia must make the ultimate choice. The question is, will her head win the battle, or her heart?

Release Day!!! Fear University

Fear University Banner Fear University
  Add to Goodreads
Synopsis
I’ve always known I was a monster, and I don’t mean some teenage vampire shit either.

My mother abandoned me when I was ten years old because I have a freakish mutant disease that makes me incapable of feeling pain. I bounced from one foster family to another because too many people like to test my medical condition in a game of “Try To Make Ollie Scream.” At sixteen, I killed a man for taking that game too far.

Two years later, I’m still on the run in Kodiak, Alaska. Here, I’m the most dangerous person around, until I come face to face with a creature that should only exist in folklore. The monster is an aswang, and I, with my medical anomaly, am uniquely qualified to hunt the beast that haunts the night. At least, that’s what the two scarred, mostly crazy ‘swang hunters tell me when they kidnap me and take me to Fear University, a school where young students learn to hunt and kill aswangs.

I arrive at the university a prisoner, but I stay because I finally find my freedom.

For once in my life, I belong. I’m needed. I make a home for myself inside the university masquerading as an old Alaskan prison. Something close to happiness warms my icy heart when I’m with my scarred, still mostly crazy tutor, Luke Aultstriver. For a murdering runaway like me, Fear University is a haven where I can put my skills to good use hunting monsters in the night.

But when certain truths come to light and even more lies are exposed, I fear that I, Ollie Andrews, am the worst kind of monster of all. And, maybe, they should be hunting me.

Book Review: The Reflections of Queen Snow White!!

The Reflections of Queen Snow White
Author : David Meredith
Format: Kindle
Genre: Fantasy, Retelling, Romance

Goodreads Synopsis

What happens when "happily ever after" has come and gone?

On the eve of her only daughter, Princess Raven's wedding, an aging Snow White finds it impossible to share in the joyous spirit of the occasion. The ceremony itself promises to be the most glamorous social event of the decade. Snow White’s castle has been meticulously scrubbed, polished and opulently decorated for the celebration. It is already nearly bursting with jubilant guests and merry well-wishers. Prince Edel, Raven's fiancé, is a fine man from a neighboring kingdom and Snow White's own domain is prosperous and at peace. Things could not be better, in fact, except for one thing:

The king is dead.

The queen has been in a moribund state of hopeless depression for over a year with no end in sight. It is only when, in a fit of bitter despair, she seeks solitude in the vastness of her own sprawling castle and climbs a long disused and forgotten tower stair that she comes face to face with herself in the very same magic mirror used by her stepmother of old.

It promises her respite in its shimmering depths, but can Snow White trust a device that was so precious to a woman who sought to cause her such irreparable harm? Can she confront the demons of her own difficult past to discover a better future for herself and her family? And finally, can she release her soul-crushing grief and suffocating loneliness to once again discover what "happily ever after" really means?

Only time will tell as she wrestles with her past and is forced to confront The Reflections of Queen Snow White.

My Thoughts
3.5 Stars

**Received this in exchange for an honest review from author.**

All together this book was good. This was a retelling of Snow White. She is now and adult and mother trying to come to grips with the loss of Charming and trying to find the strength within herself.
I really wanted to like this book more than I did but i just could not get the way the story began out of my mind. The first two or so pages to me just did not seem to fit into the story.
I would however recommend this book to adults who enjoy retelling.

 First up is Book 2

The Faerie Prince: Creepy Hollow Book 2
Author: Rachel Morgan
Format: Kindle
Genre: Fantasy, Young Adult

5 Stars

This book was amazing. I really did not think this story could get any better but I was so wrong. This book left me speechless. It changed my feelings toward most of the characters. This book was action packed and full of emotion but warning the end is a major cliff hanger.

The Faerie War: Creepy Hollow Book 3
Author: Rachel Morgan
Format: Kindle
Genre: Fantasy, Young Adult

5 Stars

" Two halves in one have more power than a whole. The fae world will bow beneath his mark. Only the sward can stop him,and only one can wield the sword: the Star of the high land. She is hidden, but the finder will find her. She will break the whole in half. By the strike of the sword, and the death of innocence, evil will be laid to rest."

It seems like I am saying this about every book in this series but I have to say it again this was such an action packed book. It really kept me on the edge of my seat. I ended up staying up all night because I could not wait to see how it ended.

A Faerie's Secret: Creepy Hollow Book 4
Author: Rachel Morgan

4 Stars

This book in the series was written in Calla's (Ryn's sisters) point of view. All together I liked this book. It was not quite as good as the others but still action packed and the ending will make you wanting more I can not wait till the next book of this series comes out.

I defiantly recommend this series to anyone who loves books about kick ass magical creatures.

Book Review : The Faerie Guardian

The Faerie Guardian : Creepy Hollow #1
Author : Rachel Morgan
Format: Kindle
Genre: Fantasy, Young Adult

Goodreads synopsys

Enter a hidden world of magic, mystery, danger and romance in this YA fantasy from Amazon bestselling author, Rachel Morgan...

Protecting humans from dangerous magical creatures is all in a day’s work for a faerie training to be a guardian. Seventeen-year-old Violet Fairdale knows this better than anyone—she’s about to become the best guardian the Guild has seen in years. That is, until a cute human boy who can somehow see through her faerie glamor follows her into the Fae realm. Now she’s broken Guild Law, a crime that could lead to her expulsion.

The last thing Vi wants to do is spend any more time with the boy who got her into this mess, but the Guild requires that she return Nate to his home and make him forget everything he’s discovered of the Fae realm. Easy, right? Not when you factor in evil faeries, long-lost family members, and inconvenient feelings of the romantic kind. Vi is about to find herself tangled up in a dangerous plot—and it’ll take all her training to get out alive.

5 Stars

This is the first book in the Creepy Hollow series from Rachel Morgan.
These faeries are nothing like the ones you read about as a child. These are bad ass kick but beings who fight magical creatures in order to protect humans. This story follows Violet a guardian in training as she goes on assignment but things don't go as planned. This book is filled with love, betrayal and kick but fighting.
I would defiantly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a great book to read.
You can get the first book in this series for free for kindle on amazon.com

As she continues to unlock the secrets of the Keeper power, Queen Julia’s true motives reveal themselves, forcing Amelia to decide, yet again, how much she’s willing to sacrifice.
